November 14-16, 2024- I gave a breakout session at the national conference of the National Coalition of Ministries to Men in Kansas City. My breakout was titled: “Share Biblical Sexuality With the Next Generation.” It was very well received.

November 10, 2024- My talk was “Victory- How Can We Overcome Evil?” I spoke at the Gateway to Freedom alumni group Zoom meeting.

August 10, 2024- I spoke to the Gateway to Freedom alumni national group by Zoom. My topic was,

“10 Ways to Build and Strengthen Your Purity.”

October 10, 2022- Invitations went out for the first Gateway to Freedom mentor group. Three leaders are ready to start groups and nine new graduates have been invited to join. It’s very exciting to see this program which we have been working on so hard, and for so long, get started. Praise the Lord.

September 30- October 1, 2022- We had the first retreat for alumni of the Gateway to Freedom intensive this weekend in the Texas hill country at CYJ Retreat Center in Wimberley, Texas. What a blessed time of fellowship, relaxation and learning. I was excited that the guys bought all of my books that were available. Many of these men I was meeting in person for the first time, having only known them on Zoom calls.

September 27, 2022- Today I met with my first Inner Child Recovery Process client. It’s wonderful to get to help men discover what is behind their sexual addiction and start to take positive action for change.

September 17, 2022- I am a member of the training team for Gateway to Freedom alumni. We trained our first group of mentors today! Be Broken Ministries has started a mentor program for alumni of Gateway to Freedom, which is a 3 day intensive for men. The groups will start in the middle of October.

September 10, 2022- I was the featured speaker at a live event; the Saturday morning Men’s Breakfast, at Eden Prairie Assembly of God Church in Minnesota. My topic: “The Pure Man.” The talk was very well received and pastor Chris Cleveland was very supportive.

September 7, 2022- Studying the Inner Child Recovery Process at Pure Life Academy. Today I completed the course and have received my Certificate. I am now a  Certified Inner Child Recovery Process Specialist.

August 13, 2022- I spoke at the International Gateway to Freedom Alumni Zoom meeting.  My topic: “Lessons Learned from the Confession of David.”

June 11, 2022- I spoke at the International Gateway to Freedom Alumni Zoom meeting. The topic: “The Power of Genuine Friendship.”

May 21, 2022- I spoke at the Pure Desire group leader training at Grace Church. The topic was, “Your Sexually Addicted Spouse- a look from the betrayed spouse’s point of view.”

November 13, 2021- I led the international Zoom meeting for Gateway to Freedom Alumni. My talk was titled: “Successfully Navigating the Holiday Season.”

July 17, 2021- I led the International Zoom meeting for Gateway to Freedom Alumni which is a part of the purity ministry of Be Broken. My talk was titled: “Are You Living Like a Sexual Atheist?”

June 12, 2021- I led the International Zoom meeting for Gateway to Freedom Alumni which is a part of the purity ministry of Be Broken. The title of my talk was: “How to Help Your Porn Addicted Teen.”

December 12, 2020- I led the international Zoom meeting for Gateway to Freedom Alumni which is a part of the ministry of Be Broken. Canada and South Africa were represented as well as men from around the county. The title of my talk was: “Living in the Light.”

November 6,7 2020- First ever Iron Sharpens Iron Virtual Hybrid Conference. There were over 20 breakout sessions. I met many new friends virtually.  I led a session title: ‘Winning the Purity Battle.” Here is the link to the Conference:

My second time at the Omaha, NE Iron Sharpens Iron Conference. A new interesting venue and an enthusiastic group of men who are on fire for the Lord. There were COVID-19 cases in Omaha and we were starting to not shake hands and lots of hand sanitizer.

February 22, 2020

My first time at the Orland Park, IL Iron Sharpens Iron Conference and it was awesome! Overflow crowd, and men who really want to grow in their faith. Men from many races, fathers and sons, all ages. My seminar was enthusiastically received. There were COVID-19 cases in Chicago at that time, but concern was low.

I spoke to the Legacy Grandparenting group at New Hope Church in New Hope, MN. My topic was:”Leading children toward healthy sexuality and protecting them from internet porn.”

December 14, 2019

I was well received by the men of Eden Prairie Assembly of God Church in Eden Prairie, MN. I spoke at their Saturday morning men’s breakfast. My topic was “Living Pure and Free.” The pastor even expressed interest in starting a purity support group at the church!

November 14, 2019

This event was the Catholic Watchmen monthly group meeting at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Brighton, MN. I gave my testimony of my own deliverance from sexual sin. Then presented an overview on the current state of sexual sin in the Church today.  I challenged the men to be different than the men of the general society.

October 4-6, 2019

Grace Church Purity Group Leader annual retreat at the Refuge Retreat Center in Stockholm, WI. I led several of the breakout sessions for our support group leaders. These are a group of dedicated men who are committed to helping men get free from sexual sin through the power of Christ.

May 10-11, 2019

Speaker at a men’s retreat called Man Camp this weekend.  A great group of men gathered at Holiday Lake in Brooklyn Iowa.  It was my first time leading a men’s retreat outside of my home church. All the men now are studying my devotional book, Live Pure and Free. It was also my first paid men’s retreat. The men enjoyed my messages. One said, “It was an honor to have you here.”  It blessed me too!

Honored to lead be a breakout session speaker at the first Iron Sharpens Iron Men’s Conference held in the Chicago metro area today. It was held at The Compass Church in Wheaton, IL. Over 300 men were in attendance and they were a very engaged group of men. The unseasonable snow storm did not dampen the enthusiasm. What a blessing for all.

Today it was announced that Live Pure and Free is a winner of a Christian Indy Award for 2019! This is very exciting news. This means national recognition for the book. What an honor. The award honors Christian books by independent authors and small publishers for outstanding contribution to Christian life.

Davenport Iowa Iron Sharpens Iron- Over 950 were there. My purity breakout session was packed. Lots of good questions and several men planning to start purity groups at their churches.

Omaha Iron Sharpens Iron- Over 300 men on fire for the Lord! It was great working with Clark Osborn and his team for the first time. I look forward to working with him again. My book was well received and now many men around Omaha are on a journey to purity and finding their freedom in Christ. Praise the Lord.

Christian Men’s Network Annual Conference Lions Roar- Dallas, TX

I met some inspiring men who have a passion to build up the men of their church and their communities. I have new friends in Jackson, MS and Kalamazoo, MI. It was a very inspiring event with famous Christian speakers giving powerful messages.

Do you know that only 3% of the churches in the US have men’s ministries?

National Coalition of Ministries to Men Annual Conference- Nashville, TN 

Germany– At the National Coalition of Men’s Ministry annual conference in Nashville, TN October 23-25 a German man purchased a copy of my book to take back to Germany to his men’s ministry. He has an interest in translating the book into German.

Short post on my Book Live Pure and Free- the 90 Day Game Changer.

This is not a fluffy book. I talk about the real things that guys in my purity group were going through in their struggles, as well as my own story.  It reflects my 10 years of leading men through their journey to purity, which is only found in Christ and with God’s power.

Some of the devotions get gritty, and real. In Revelation 12:11 it says, “ And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” I wanted the reader to say to themselves, “this guy is real. He’s been through this and has overcome. If he can do it, I can do it.”

I heard one writer say that you have to have that personal connection with the reader through your honesty. “You have to bleed all over the pages.” That’s what I did.

Dave Howe

Dave Howe is an author, group leader, speaker, musician, consultant and retreat leader. Howe has written a devotional book for men in the battle for their purity. It’s real, it’s gritty, and it’s full of hope.

Background

Two years after his own battle for purity, Howe co-founded For Men Only in 2006, a support group for men seeking freedom from sexual sin. He knew from research that many men sitting around him in church on Sunday mornings also struggled with purity. Howe wanted them to experience the same freedom in Christ that he had found.

For Men Only grew from its humble beginning with one group to multiple groups meeting at different times and days of the week. Throughout its twelve years, For Men Only (currently called Pure Desire for Men) has remained open to men from anywhere in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area; some travel as far as sixty miles to attend.

God has expanded its reach with several graduates now running groups at other churches in the western suburbs. An annual leaders retreat was the highlight of the year during Howe’s leadership years. He organized the programs, led the sessions, and planned and performed the worship music.

Howe worked for The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association as a Response Center Supervisor and was an organizer of the Billy Graham Prayer Center in New York City after 9/11. He is a long-time member of  the Minnesota Christian Writers Guild and studied non-fiction writing at the Loft Literary Center. For the past four years, he participated in the Mt. Hermon Christian Writers Conference in Santa Cruz California. As an accomplished writer his work has appeared in The Christian Examiner and the Christian Chronicle. Contributions to the Grace Church newsletters, and guest blogger for Fatherhood CoMission are among his other writing credits.

What motivated him then, and still motivates him today, is knowing there are men trapped in their sexual sin who are desperate for help. His prayer is that this book will be a game changer for many men around the country, and the world, as they seek their freedom in Christ.

Dave is married to fellow author, Barbara Howe. He enjoys spending time with his son and fishing with his grandson.
